Can anyone out there help me,i have a 2003 skoda fabia 1200cc which had been involved in a frontal accident on o/s airbags had been deployed,all was replaced i am have a problem with the power steering light on dash, power steering is working fine but when i switch on ignition steering light will go out but once car is started light comes on but all will still work fine,have got a computor check done and come back with this fault code, FAULT CODE 00818 STEERING ASSISTANCE SENSOR-G250 OPEN/SHORT CIRCUIT TO POSITIVE, have replaced steering sensor on rack twice and all wires have been checked and are ok,ANY IDEA PLEASE.

If its not the sensor, nor the seperate wiring loom going from the sensor all the way round to the pump then it is a defective pump.

How has the wiring been checked?

Thanks for getting back.power steering pump was tried on another car and light went out no problem ,pump is a recon. unit from BBA-Reman,amy other ideas

There isnt anything else on the sensor circuit. How has the wiring been checked?
