how much weight does the pan roof add to the car , please ?

 

also , if you’ve specced it , was it the right decision ?

I tried configuring two Kodiaq's online, one with, and one without the panoramic sunroof, to compare the weights.

No idea about the weight. We love ours and I wouldn’t have a car without it. Personal choice though, and I’m sure plenty aren’t fussed. 

 

It it makes the cabin even lighter; I love sliding it open on a hot day to let the heat out, and leaving it tilted when parked so it doesn’t get too hot; and I love the choice of fresh air without too much noise rather than having to rely on A/C. The kids love the view out of it. 

 

My other car is a convertible though, so I’m perhaps biased.

We are the same. Past 3 cars have had one and we wouldn’t go back. Ours should arrive in the next 3wks

I loved the panoramic sunroof on my previous Yeti, but the waiting on finding the inevitable puddles in the footwells that seem to be a VAG trait,  put me off adding the roof to my Kodiaq.

If the panoramic sunroof was fixed (non-opening) and therefore a good chunk cheaper I'd have probably specced it.

 

I too have heard too many leaking and creaking complaints, not just within VAG on opening panoramic sunroofs, to pay over £1,000 for it.

 

The extra light and brightness it brings to the cabin is great though, and the kids would love it I'm sure.

Have had two touaregs and my current seat with the same pan roofs (all open and mechanism is the same). Never had any issues with leaks. Just need to keep an eye on the channels
