Door open warning light

Featured Replies

Hi, one for the electricians out there, our '14 1.2 Roomster has the door open warning light on when all doors, bonnet and boot lid are all shut, boot light on continuously. When I lock the car using the remote the warning light flashes as does the boot light.  I suspect the boot lid switch (if there is one) is faulty.

So my question is, is there is a switch or are the doors "sensed" closed by proximity sensors.  Where are the boot lid switches/sensors located.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Paul and welcome to Briskoda.

Sorry I can't answer your question directly - but a few Roomster owners (myself included) found they had to close the tailgate very firmly in order to actuate the "sensing" mechanism.  Try this first!

Thanks R, will try that tomorrow.

There is a micro-switch on the boot mechanism / lock / catch. It can be opened and the micro-switch repaired / replaced but its a fiddly job.

Its often easier to simply replace the entire mechanism...

UPDATE:- Car fixed. Done at main dealer, Robert Eardley Stoke.

Multi plug in loom at the rear of the car adjacent to "D" pillar, LH side corroded probably due to condensation, or maybe water ingress where the loom exits the D pillar to the tailgate.

Dealer took photos of the multi plug prior to repair, will upload them.

Dealer reckoned they had not seen it before.
