I recently purchased a 2002 1.9 sdi fabia, really pleased with it but have a few questions:

1. Anyone had problems with wheel bearings? Mines had both front and back n/s bearings go and it

3. Central locking - is there any way you can set it to lock the doors when you pull away?

Last time when I visit a dealer, I saw a banner offering upgrade central locking with free lube service iirc

For 2 & 3:

2.) don't think you can enable that feature on earlier cars.

3.) That can be sorted by your dealer, or by a friendly fellow Briskodian equipped with VAG-COM

To enable just hold for three blinks and release. Seriously......No

1) My rear wheel bearings were replaced at about 45,000 miles. I put this down to living up an unmade track on Dartmoor its tough terrain for a Fabia :-)

I lost a wheel bearing at about 30k on my 1.4 16v. The door locked when you drive off function can be enabled by the dealer or someone with a VAG COM.

Yes there was an issue with front wheel bearings.

But I do believe the parts to be superceeded so the new ones should not have an issue.
