Alrite folks.

So i posted about a month ago about the hellish boost surge i was getting in my octy RS.

The garage replaced a split hose and the N75 valve, and the problem was gone for about three miles. Now it's back, even worse.

There is bad boost surge, the turbo is howling when on full boost and the car is using oil:eek: . Very occasional, starting from cold there'll be a puff of blue smoke.

Am i right in thinking my turbo is about to pop?????? I never changed the N249 valve the last so may that help.

Any suggestions/thoughts would be great as i need to get this sorted. It's all come about from getting a Stage 1 REVO map.

I would guess your turbo was failing before you had the remap and the additional boost was a little too much.

Call REVO and ask them what they think.

Sounds like your turbo is using the oil, one of the seals may have gone meaning your turbo is blowing the oil right into your intake manifold causing the blue smoke.

have a look at the turbo outlet pipe, see if there is any oil?

the intercooler has oil in it, and around the top of the compressor housing, were the rubber elbow comes out, has oil around the outside of it. Any help.

thank god its not a diesel! i was recently in a car and the turbo oil seal failed and began pumping oil into the engine, oil has a much higher calorific value than diesel so the engine went insane!

Blew the hell out of the head gasket and trashed the turbo, because even when you switch of the ignition it continues to run.

It does sound like yours is on its way though, no idea how much for a new one but i would get it fitted asap and save more expensive work! make sure you clean out all of your pipework after its done though.

A while ago (2004) a new KKK turbo was £1008 or £608 on exchange - both are dealer prices.

Just read the post above and visited the link. I see they are selling like hot cakes at bargain prices!

my camper did this last year, frightened the **** out of me. all of a sudden engine races to max revs, huge clouds of white smoke out of the back (like a smoke grenade or something!) and engine runs on the oil, even with the key out. cue me doing double take for ten seconds with key in my hand, going "duh?". it's quite dangerous: you can burst the block doing this.

all you can do is stall it by putting in gear and dropping the clutch, or block the air intake with a cloth...
