Ha! Couldn't find the Sportline Plus Viagra XL SE when I checked out the brochure.

Only available on the Chinese market where LONG WHEELBASE equates to look how wealthy I am, never mind the Smith's or Jone's.:notme:

Reminds me of a time I had just arrived by car in Gibraltar, parking is a nightmare. Had been looking for a space for what felt like, and probably was, hours. I eventually found one and some large lady stood in front of my car and smugly waved her friend in in front of me. I was quite annoyed and held my position whilst they manoeuvred their car - they manoeuvred the entire side of their car along a metal pillar holding up the car park and caused a surprising amount of damage - so I can understand the damage your wife must have caused!

I was in a convertible so had that satisfaction of saying loudly, oh, that's a shame before driving off. Their car was not as large as the Superb.

I enjoy parking large cars into small spaces, I did so with a hire (courtesy) car in Bermondsey. I think the car next along was not as impressed as they keyed the entire side of a new Mazda 6. Thankfully I had taken out the no-excess policy.

Sure your real name is not RUSS SWIFT, he likes squeezing into small spaces!

Maybe I can attempt his technique if I get a Superb, first day of ownership on the Skoda forecourt, see how that suspension really fares.

On the Skoda site, WLTP for Superb is "51.4 - 47.1" whereas Octavia is "54.3 - 48.7".

Why do you think her current car has all the bases covered with standard front/rear parking sensors and a reversing camera (BELTS & BRACES).:whew:

Because the OP is a high mileage driver so presumably long periods behind the wheel, comfort is paramount.

I suggest the only way is to try and arrange long term test, maybe hire each car to get a good picture. Noise is a problem in the Octavia and some say the rear beam suspension is bad. Superb is better though factory tyres are loud. Seating is always an area best checked on a long run.

As the OP was concerned about the bonnet length inadequacy earlier I need to point out

Penis length is not linked to foot size

The idea that the size of your penis is in proportion to your shoe size is a myth, according to a study published in the British Journal of Urology International.

Researchers at University College London measured the penises of 104 men, including teenagers and pensioners.

The average penis length in this group was 13cm (5.1 inches) when soft and gently stretched, and the average British shoe size was 9 (43 European size).

But researchers found no link between shoe size and penis length

It'd be the Superb for me. Not much in the fuel economy and it's a much more comfortable car.

Because you've been stuck on 1,541 points for awhile and I like you and can confirm at 1.85m tall, shoe size 10 and more than the 5.1 inches of Mr.Average.

All I'll say, for the ladies out there, is I'm a shoe size 13 ....

13CM is about 5.1" so about average then. Think were a bit off topic, fortunately the moderators have gone to bed after having a nice mug of Hot Chocolate.:tongueout:

Another few points re Octavia v Superb

Octavia will always be much easier to sell on than Superb, and loses considerably less money on depreciation overall. Depreciation is still the major cost in running a car.

Octavia running costs are lower, fuel is probably only a minor  part, repairs are generally cheaper, watch out for tyres, the large tyres on the Superb can be very expensive. More independents willing to work on Octavia than Superb. Octavia still has conventional cable operated handbrake so changing pads don't require a diagnostic tool

Dealer said that the Super 2.0TDI DSG would be a dry 7 speed clutch, is this correct? Skoda customer service saying the same

Seeing as though I only used 20% of my break pads on Fabia in maybe 40000 miles, i'm not too worried about those kind of costs. I think tyre prices based on the size of wheel for both the Octavia SEL and Superb SE are the same (like double the 16" Octavia SE wheels).

I'd get a 100,000 miles warranty, do hopefully around 33,000 miles per year then extend warranty by another year at 99,000 miles. So potentially I could have four years of warranty when I would then probably change the car again.

I do gentle motorway miles so do not think repair costs will be a huge issue.

Am i wrong to think this?

I was under the impression the new 2.0tdi dsg is a recently introduced 7 speed WET box, previously it was a 6 speed WET box. Both will require servicing at 40,000 mile intervals (dsg oil and filter change).

Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm

There have been a few report rear brake ridiculously premature wear and caliper issues

Interesting. Presumably a warranty issue?

It depends on your dealer and your abilities to break through the "wear and tear" mantra.

Some have succeeded, others got "goodwill", some ended up paying.
