Boot problem

Featured Replies

Hi got mk1 fabia with a boot problem have had boot switch out resolderd connections they are fine now but boot opens some times and not most times I have to unlock it with the switches on door or boot release on floor but sometimes it doesn't work first time so I have to fiddle with switches and boot realese again any one got any suggestions on what it could be please

This can happen because of a failing microswitch in the drivers door lock unit. Next time the boot won't open, try opening one of the rear doors first and then see if the boot opens.

Yes you would need a new lock unit. It requires the door stripping down to do it.

Does that mean a new barrel as well or just the electrical box it connects to
