Hey all,

What is the basic way to remove the bulb? I tried pushing counterclock side but i couldnt remove. I afraid to break something and stopped forcing. I believe it shouldnt be that much hard. Is there a lock or piece i need to push before forcing counterclock?

Thanks

Two types of lamp fitment depending on type of headlight, yours has the locking tabs (those loop things) which need to be moved to release the bulb. Note there is no turning of the bulb with your setup!

See the workshop instructions below for more specific instructions, bit difficult to follow I must say...

Have just studied the wording a bit more, I think what it means is squeeze the 2 loops together then raise them -

edit: removed wrong instructions ....

I understood that we fisrtly need to do something with the wire strap.

But still dont know how to release it.

Should two wire loops become closer to release or we push out the loops at reverse direction or hold the straps and turn it counterclock direction ?

I was wrong, no counter clockwise movement.

From the photo, I think that the clip ends are held (locked) in U shaped cutouts. The inner side of the U being just enough to hold them so more of a J

So squeeze together, pull back towards you and though the bottom of the U and the clip ends should then be free to spring open on the long part of the U cutout nearest to you. Hope you get what I mean.

Once unlocked you might need to help spread the clip to release the bulb.

A clearer photo would be useful.

Squeeze the two loops together, like ur using a scissors.

While it's squeezed, pull the D3S bulb out, slowly.

Thank you all. I could see the release path after having a closer look to my photos. It is like J as Xman mentioned.

I can now try....

 Useful photo! @KorayGurel

@shea1980 Today i could release the lock, remove the old bulb and put the new one in and lock it. Check the picture in a few entries before that shows the path the wire travels in.

Having exactly the same issue. Bulb came out fine. Finding it impossible to get a new bulb in. It feels like it's seated correctly, but whatever I do I can't get the clips to secure the bulb in place. I can see it should simply be a case of squeezing the prongs then pushing them towards the front of the car then releasing. Any hints/tips please?

Edit. Used needle nose pliers on the spring clip. This gave me enough purchase to push forwards to engage it properly.

Have the clip type and managed to get this done reaching in beside the fuse box from the bonnet, after about three sessions of destroying my fingertips for 45 minutes.

This below video helped a lot to map out in my head what I am feeling.

The key for me was to line up the little tab into the slot (which he points out in the video).
