Skoda Praktik power steering

Featured Replies

Hello

I have tried to figure out why the power steering on my 2008, 1,4L 59kw Praktik doesn't work. I have read many posts but never got the answer that i was looking for.

I tried changing/checking battery, fuses, grounds, connections. Can someone tell me what it is? pump or sensor? something else worth checking for...?

Maybe someone here knows exactly what is wrong with my power steering, i will add a picture, there are some readings i got from VCDS.

Thanks in advance.

@ronics - Well, to start with, you don't measure a voltage in Amperes! (comment on your dump values).

You haven't given us any fault codes. You also haven't checked the PAS fluid level.

Sorry. PAS fluid level was the first thing. it was okay.

Only fault code i get is 00566

00566 - Steering Assistance Operation: Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

  • Fuse(s) faulty
  • Battery Voltage too Low
  • Pump Unit faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Fuse(s)
  • Check Power Supply/Battery
  • Check Pump Unit
    • Use Meas. Blocks

@ronics - When all else has been eliminated, what remains must be the correct answer.

So I presume the battery light works correctly? If so, I then think the issue must be with the pump motor.

Battery light works fine it seems. although when power steering fault appeared, it also showed me for a few seconds that abs is also not working... But abs light disappeared and power steering stayed.
