Moon white - sticky dirt

Featured Replies

As its winter and we have quite snowy weather my moon white Superb gets extremely dirty from slush. Thats quite normal - what is not normal is how hard it is to get this dirt off the car. I picked up my Skoda mid november and its like dirt is glued to car.

offcourse proper hand washing helps but I dont have much time to do it frequently.

I have Nissan Qashqai 2017 in white colour and I simply visit touchless car wash with karcher and some decent chemicals and its super clean. Superb after same visit still has dirt layer on it. Is it possible that its due to remnants of transport wax?

Ill be applying ceramic coat to car in Feb so hope this will solve it but anyone else has similar experience with moon white?

Yes same experience here, and as a detailer this bothers me. A quick rinse (which is what I do for the most part during winter) without pre-wash does nothing. A good ceramic coating will help but I still need a good pre-wash.

Interesting @BGB, do you have any view as to why this would be? I have Quartz Grey. After a decent decontamination (oblitarate, BH paint cleanser, clay plus correction if required in my case) and and a couple of coats of Fusso Dark, I get a really smooth finish that the dirt just falls away from. Topped up regularly with Megs Ultimate liquid wax I really don't need any serious level of pre-wash for the next six months until I do it all again. Is there a difference in the paint composition for moon white do you think?

I really dont know to be honest, must be something with the clear coat they use on light colors.

Lets see what will happen after polishing   and applying ceramic. One of my mates from polish Superb forum has moon white with ceramic and mentioned its not hard to clean.

i actually plan to only flush it with demineralized water and go to full detailing washing once per month. Lets see how it works out ;)
