Center arm-rest removal

Featured Replies

Hi all, long time lurker but only just decided to register recently, I've a Fabia MK3 SE L which i bought second hand. It came with the center arm-rest which unfortunately for me is doing nothing but causing damage to the nerves in my elbow!

Has anyone a guide on how to remove it and is there any part that you can buy to cover the hole?

I am willing to do a swapsies with someone who wants the arm-rest?

Cheers

Is leaving it in the up position does not solve the elbow problem?

If you still want to remove it, first loosen centre console. There are two screws on the both sides down near your feet. Another two are in the cup holders under the rubber mat. And one under the tray behind armrest.

To remove the armrest first lift it up. Carefully unclip the side trim. After that you will see the screws holding it.

Skoda dealers should sell you a larger tray to cover the hole. I'm sure I still have my original one.

Thanks, ill have a look at it tomorrow when there's a bit more light. I'll probably head off to Doncaster's Skoda and ask if they've got one, or ring them first would probably be a good idea!

The arm-rest has zero use for me when in normal position, i'm 6'4 and it makes it very awkward to use the handbrake, and uncomfortable to change gears. Only benefit is on m/way journeys, but most of the time i forget it's there and therefore it's in the upright position all the time. And i consistently smack my elbow on it when applying the handbrake...

It serves no good use for me, only a painful obstruction.
