Radio/Entertainment constant power

Featured Replies

Hi and hello!

For the first time my Skoda SuperB 2009 had a flat battery and thats only because I put in a new entertainment system last Saturday. Yay me..

Tried google/search here and came up short. So if there is a topic that I missed, I do apologize!

I want my ent. system to be powerless when I turn off my engine and remove the key. Is It doable? And somewhat DIY?

Cheers!

/Joakim

You might want to add which headunit/entertainment system you've fitted?

The stock headunit only has constant/permanent power and relies on the CAN-bus to turn it on and off. Newer VAG/Skoda headunits might need a replacement CAN gateway to send the right messages to avoid battery drain.

If it's aftermarket, the typical solution is to run a switched/ignition live from the fusebox to the headunit using a piggyback fuse.

It’s system from Wish so I have no ideá what model/make it is. But I liked that last thing you said, is there a fuse you recommend?

I'd use a multimeter to find something suitable. It shouldn't pull much power from the switched/ignition live...
