Apologies if this thread ends up in wrong place, but at this stage difficult to know if it will share parts with Scala, or some other model (eg a jacked up Fabia, or similar to SEAT Arona, or VW T-cross), and can't expect MOds to create a section for currently unnamed vehicle

Not even a softroader if it just comes with FWD, just a smaller tall hatchback which Skoda badly needs.

They will have to sort out the issues that some are having with 1.5TSI's before they start producing this new model and also the Scala.

So basically its a Skoda badged Seat Arona or Volkswagen T-cross with the rear side windows same shape but smaller than Karoq

Obviously different shaped lights and panels around them

Would not be surprised if doors are identical pressings.

 

Clearly same floorpan, engines, mechanicals etc and probably using identical dashboard to new Scala

 

So basically a SUV style new taller Fabia (and mk 4 Fabia is likely to share many parts in 2020)

Probably the car that should have been launched before they killed off the bigger Yeti, rather than leaving Seat to struggle

 

I wonder if it will steal sales from Fabia or Scala rather than other brands, ultimately will depend on price and specs

 

Will it sell, there is clearly a market for this type as Seat have sold 12,509 Arona in 2018

 

 

 

 

Yes it will sell to VW Finance to lease, to other Lease Companies and to Motability Finance to be leased.

The Arona is Selling / Leasing very well and there is the demand for them. (there will be plenty used at dealers in 2 or 3 years...)

People will no doubt buy with cash money or finance as well.   Maybe those that want a Skoda rather than a SEAT, VW or Audi or a Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, Nissan, Vauxhall etc etc.

SKODA NEW SUV 2019

Well to me it looks like a Karoq or Kodiaq with different headlights. Not much different from an Arona or Ateca and a million other VAG SUVs.

 

Except they stole some lights from a Citroen.

 

Note, the smaller the headlight, the more the intense dazzle for oncoming drivers staring at point sources, a disturbing trend along with animated fairy lights , drls doing strange things when turning, one eyed cornering fogs etc.

The Skoda Polar renderings / pics and vids have on the go since March 2018.

 

 

Launching or Revealing is March and as usual Skoda CZ / VW Media tease.   

 

What is the point of renederings, other than teasing from images Skoda Leak to people, or like Autoexpress just show a 'rendering' Photoshop of other similar models, 

you are liable to be near the mark.

 

When will Order books open, what will be the trims and specs, and when can they get them to customers?

is the news that potential customers need to know.

Skoda designs seem to be morphing into Seat/Vw/Audi mongrels. The only thing that will identify them as time goes on is the badge.

Not an exciting car to look at in my opinion.

The new Skoda Crock will be out soon which will  be designed not to seem like a Skoda and have a unique look like every other car on the road. It will be available in Smartie colours and have the face of a ****su dog.

Why do they call it a baby suv ,if it’s the same size as the Troc and Arona which are nearly identical dimensions to the Yeti,which I don’t class as being particularly small.

 

Why does anyone call a Car, or Small People Carrier, or MPV / Multi Purpose Vehicle a SUV or Small SUV when all it is is a car.

A Peugeot 5008 without the option of AWD is a MPV or People Carrier but they style like a SUV.

 

Just marketing talk.

Capture, 3008, T-Roc, Arona, EcoSport, etc etc are just taller hatchbacks.  Easy in and easy out, it is not complicated.  A FWD Kamiq is just the same.

No 'Softroader' version if not Part Time AWD or some sort of kiddyon 'Traction Modes' to the front wheels like the Peugeot / Citroen / Vauxhall offer as an option.

Ground Clearance not even there are some rubbish 'Fake Aluminium' protection / ground scraper gets fitted to front and rear.

I'm not looking at any VWG cars until they have completely sorted out the 1.5 TSI problems, which is the smallest petrol I'd consider.

 

If they don't I'm going elsewhere.

Just looked at the Wheelbase on this and it does not make any sense about it being the Baby SUV, .

Thinking about this as a replacement for the yeti which is now 5 years old.

Sat in the back of a Kodiaq behind my normal driving position and it's not got a lot of extra legroom compared to our Karoq. However it has got a much bigger boot.
