Skoda Fabia Paintwork

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever experienced problems with paint work on a Skoda, less than 3 years old?.

Our family Fabia (16 plate) in Skoda blue has a black roof and some of the paint on one side is beginning to blister slightly revealing the basic blue underneath,

This indicates that the black paint has been painted over the blue as a secondary process during production.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Presume this is something that could be pursued via warranty?

Grateful for any advice

Is this a Mk3 Fabia.???

So not a Mk2 which production of stopped in 2014.

Have you had from new, factory order or from stock, do you know it is a factory painted roof, or as above a wrap?

The terms of the Pain Warranty is that ASAP you report the Issue to an Approved Skoda Repairer / Main Dealership.

So do that.

Have them check, report to Skoda UK, have an examination arranged.

Then the car needs checked  to see if the Factory Paint, an In transit Damage Repair, or whatever.  Expert Report that is.

Is the black roof actually painted on or is it a vinyl wrap?

That was always my thoughts. On my wife’s Colour Edition, the roof certainly looks like a wrap with has then been lacquered over.
