Idle is Up & Down 2006 VRS 2.0L Petrol

Featured Replies

Hi All, My car has started to have fluctuating idle speed this morning. It ranges from 1500 to 3000 rpm at times. Could this be to the colder weather or something else? Engine temperature gauge was between 1/4 & 1/2 way.

Any info will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

3k is way to high to be idling,

any smoke out the back?

have you checked your oil levels

ran any scans ?

was it changing idle on it's own or sticking at a certain level ?

Hello,

Yeah it is to high!

No smoke that I have seen. Oil level is fine to.

It was changing on its own...

I don't have a scanner

Thanks

Could be any possible sensor/system being resposnible for keeping and ranging the idle.

Could require some cleaning-ups - as Gissin said you'll better scan it to see if has been logged anyhing.

at a guess could be broken PCV

Or occasionally a split breather hose

Hi All, turned out to be a split breather pipe! The longer one of the 2. Replaced the pcv and both pipes. All is good again,,,

Thanks for your responses:biggrin:

glad you're all sorted
