Passenger door on our Fabia won't open from the outside. Works fine from the inside. Handle moves ok, but makes a "clicking" noise. I guess something is broken or loose? Anyone had a similar problem or know the cause?

I had something similar with the rear offside door when the garage were repairing the water leak on that door. Apparently a cable or somesuch wasn't adjusted right on re-assembly of the door panel, took about 5 minutes for them to fix.

I'd drop it into the dealer if it's under warranty, if not hopefully someone knowledgable may be able to tell you what to adjust

If this is like the Passat, you remove a black plastic cap from the side of the door (where the latch is), undo a allen screw and part of the outside handle comes out. There's a little wire cable with a plastic retainer which links the outside of the handle to the door mechanism. It had a habit of coming off it's catch in the Passat . . just a thought!
