fan / heating not working and car not unlocking!

Featured Replies

Hello

Would appreciate any help. I have a mk2 skoda superb estate 3.6. Have been away on holiday for a few weeks and returned to find that the car's heating / fan is not working. The lights on the dashboard all light up but increasing the fan speed, putting on the windscreen blower have no effect. The car unlocked with the remote with no issues, but when I came to trying to lock it again, neither fob would work. I can manually lock the car but not with either remote.

Unsure if the two issues are linked.

Any thoughts at all would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Flat battery? Stuck blower fan motor?

car driving fine so battery seems ok - any way to check the fan motor?

Only by removing it.

I had a similar issue. The car was sat on the drive for two weeks over Christmas.

Jumped in and started the engine. Hit the AUTO button to turn on the Climatronic, two or three of the fan LED's lit up as usual but the fan definitely wasn't running.

Nothing would get it to work, changing the air direction, fan speed etc. Until I put it in reverse putting it back on the drive.

My Superb automatically activates the automatic air recirculation when reverse gear is engaged. Taking it out of reverse and all of a sudden the fan kicks in. Been fine ever since so I assumed it had just got stuck whilst being sat in the damp / cold.

No issues with locking / unlocking though.
