and airbag.

Maybe coding problems??? Please for help...

The car will certainly need coding

(I have tried the coding on my Superb without problem, but without the heated steering wheel being fitted.)

As above, it will definitely need coding, so that the option to turn it on and off is enabled via the infotainment screen*...

Hey guys new to this forum, found it while looking for info on installing a heated steering wheel to my superb 2012…just bought it and love driving it, accept on a cold morning…ouch.

I am about to install an aftermarket navigator and info system, so that we can have reversing camera…and am not sure how different the experience will be after that, and how a heated steering wheel could

integrate.

I spoke to Skoda dealer in Wollongong  and they said they wouldn't install a heated steering wheel S the wiring harness isn’t set up for it..and they don’t like to mess with coding.

Hi Peter,

I've looked into this also, but haven't proceeded because of the considerable costs involved. I don't know how much of this would be applicable to the Superb II, but for my Kodiaq I would need to buy:

  • the new wheel
  • a new airbag, because the heated wheel for my era of car (pre MY21) uses a slightly different shaped airbag
  • a new slip-ring, because the current one isn't compatible with a heated wheel. This part also seems quite hard to come by.

In addition, you will need to supply power to the wheel, and adapt the slip-ring wiring harness to a different connector and different pin layout. This is accomplished most easily with the use of an adaptor, which can be bought from Kufatec. This adaptor includes a cable that you have to run to your fusebox for power, and connect to the ground-point near the driver's doorsill. Make sure you get the RHD version if your car is RHD, as otherwise the cable won't be long enough to reach the fusebox.

The coding is the easy bit of this operation!

I'm not sure how it would work with your aftermarket navigator /info system, as the settings for turning the heat on/off and up/down are only accessible through the infotainment system. It will depend on how much integration your new system provides, I guess.

Why do you need an aftermarket system for a reversing camera? For the costs involved you could likely just buy the OEM camera parts and install. Or was there not one available for the Superb II?

Corrected LHD to RHD

Oh Hi,

Thanks for the info, it does sound expensive…it’s also  a matter of finding someone with experience who could do it.

Has anyone had this done?

I did look into just adding the reversing camera…in the end i think it was form over common sense as I liked the look of the new unit, which had a larger screen and was designed for the superb. I’ve also had previous experience of an aftermarket system which was positive.

Cheers

Hey - did you get it done afterall?

Any problems with the front assist after that? I'm researching and it looks like the wiper arms may need changing too

Hello everyone. I'm slowly giving up.

1. The steering wheel with heating was replaced. Additionally, the slip ring 5Q0953569B was replaced. Of course, additional wiring.

2. Coding to get steering wheel heating in the menu. until now, everything was fine. Controls in the menu work correctly. The steering wheel heats up.

3. Now the problems... an error with the acc was displayed. When I returned to the old slip ring, the problem with the acc disappeared. Any ideas? Could the slip ring 5Q0953569B be incompatible with the acc? Am I missing some coding?

I have the Kufatec wiring adapter for installing a heated steering wheel. I haven't installed it yet, but in the instructions it says that if you have an error with ACC you should change some wiring in the yellow 12 pin plug on the back of the steering wheel airbag. It says remove the cable from Pin 8 and connect it to Pin 11. Good luck, please let me know if this works - I am going to do this project next year.

Thanks for replying. I read that topic, but that doesn't work with skoda superb.

Hi @onyx84, were you able to fix this problem with the ACC?
