Aux heater and app

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have a Skoda Octavia 2017 with almost all the extra equipment I could get.

But I can`t control the aux heater in the car with the app since the car was delivered a couple of month before Skoda released this to the app.

And when I try to ask Skoda if it`s possible to fix this so that I can control the heater through the app I just get the answer that it`s not possible.

Does anybody here know if it`s true that it`s impossible to get this to work?

Why don't you fill in your car details and location in your user profile, then people might be able to give you a more informed opinion.

When you say auxiliary heater, do you mean the diesel powered one you can get in scandinavian countries?

Sorry, but wasn't aware of the process for the profile. Have updated it now.

Location is Norway (yes, Scandinavian country). And by aux heater I mean the diesel powered one. I have Skoda Connect and can see the loction of the car, diesel usage, power on lights etc, but not control the heater. I have the remote to turn it on and off, but the distance from my appartment to the car is to long and it have been useful to turn it on/off with the app since I live in a cold country.

Your profile can also contain the full car description eg engine size and type petrol/diesel and transmission, manual or DSG. This will help when answering questions.

Is yours a Facelift model? If it is, I don’t see why it wouldn’t couldn’t be controllable. It may be as simple as some VCDS or VCP tweaks. Unfortunately the climate in the UK is such that the aux heater is not an available option to us, so you’re unlikely to get a definite answer. There are a few Scandinavian based members in this Octavia forum, so one of them may be able to help.

The internet police got this thread early :D

If you have the Skoda Connect I guess you have a FaceLift version.

I'm not sure if your Webasto can be connected to the Skoda app but there are other remote controllers out there if it can't be done.

Something like this: https://www.remuc.fi/site/remuc/en/
