Apr tcu remap on a stock 2ltr tdi

Featured Replies

Evening everyone can anybody shed any light on the Apr dsg tcu remap specifically the shift points in D I have read conflicting reports in the online forums some say it makes D nicer as it holds onto gears longer which is what I am looking for I find the way the stock dsg always shifts into 6th as early as possible frustrating especially around town. Any info would be appreciated cheers.

What difference would being in 5th around town make at maybe 40, 50 or 60 mph?

You have 'S' if you want to hold gears longer as in more rpm before gear shifts.

A big difference in my opinion when the car is doing a regen it’s much nicer it shifts into 4th at 32mph 5th at 45 and sixth at 55 when not doing a regen I.e 99% of the time  it’s 4th  at 27 mph 5th at 32 and 6th at 40 and sport

revs out to far doesn’t feel nice around town

I must not be observant.

I am not even aware my Dirty Diesel (150PS TDI 'remapped' engine-ecu, SCR / DSG) is doing regens when driving in towns or cities only when stopped and it is still doing one.

Search for throttle and gearbox mods on here with OBDeleven/VCDS.  I did 2 mods late last year and the car is now much nicer to drive.  Shift points are slightly higher in light throttle driving but holds onto the gears much longer the harder you floor it.  All in 'D' so no need for 'S' now.  Keeps it on boost more and makes the 150ps far more usable.  Almost tempted not to get it mapped now......almost :tongueout:

Thanks marky I will look into that, there’s always the peddle box option to avoid mapping it makes the car feel way more eager
