Just bought a 096 size Vartar E44 heavy duty battery and it drops straight in just like the original

Varta are good batteries. My Fiat Multipla had one from new which expired after 8 years but as the Multipla had an unusual size battery I replaced it with another Varta and that took me on for another 6 years until I part exchanged the Fiat. My Roomster is still on the factory original after 6 years and no signs of slowing down yet. When it goes another Varta me thinks. Longest I had out of a battery was a Lucas Pacemaker which was fitted to my BL Mini way back in 1974. That lasted the 10 years I owned the car.

I changed my battery because it seemed to be cranking over slowly and when i looked the person who owned it before me had put a cheap 54Ah battery on. I am sure i read somewhere that the diesel Roomster should have a 61Ah battery on it, anyway checked the measurements of the Varta 77Ah and it was exactly the same size as a Skoda original .

Hope mine lasts as long as yours did but at least i know i am  good for 5 years.
