Water Pump on 1.4 TSI

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on an Octavia I'm hoping to buy this weekend.  I've got the dealer to agree on changing the timing belt as the car has just turned 5 year old.  When I had a MKII diesel Octavia the water pump was changed at the same time as the belt.

The dealer says this does not apply to the 1.4 TSI, is this right? Has Skoda given any guidance when it needs checking/replacing?

Many thanks,

Ian

The timing belt on the 1.4 tsi doesn’t drive the water pump.

The water pump is at the opposite end of the engine, driven by its own small toothed belt off one of the camshafts.
