I have a question which hopefully someone could help out with.

 

I have a 14 plate VRS Diesel and it would seem that the electric windows now don't work to the front windows using the switch on the door card, however, the rear windows on the same switch still work. All the windows still operate with the fob and also the window switch on the passenger side is also still operational.

 

I assume the driver's switch has had it and burned out but after some clarification before I look to replace it.

New switch time I'd say.  Erratic behaviour can sometimes be resolved with a contact cleaner, such as Servisol 10 to clear away swarf around the contacts, but simply not working at all sounds altogether more terminal.

Had something similar on my previous mk7 golf. There was a video on YouTube on how to reset it. Less than 1 minute job if I remember. Just a few different presses up and down on the switch. Not sure if yours is the same.

 Hi,

 Did you get this sorted? My 63 reg octavia has just done this. The passenger window went down a couple of times on its own (not good on a day like this!) and would only go up with the button on the passenger door. Otherwise exactly the same issue as you are/were having.

yep, got it sorted.

 

Was a switch issue which i replaced from Skoda.

 

will the windows go up/down with the fob if you press and hold the button?
