Triple dash guages / pods

Featured Replies

Now it seems I may have found a suitable place to "tap" into the engine system to be able to monitor oil pressure & temperature on a guage in the car.

The question is I've got no idea where to get a guage from. I currently have a standard boost guage, so I think my best way to attack this would be to look for a suitable triple pod assembly. I fancy having this attached to the dash above the centre air vent. Then I'd go on the hunt for black standard sized oil pressure and temp guages. They apparently can both be fed from a single feed from the sensor on the oil line. :)

Any suppliers spring to mind? I expect the 1.8T guys know of a few. ;)

I seem to remember a thread which showed a pod of three dials attached to the right side of the windscreen Jason!!

Here's a site: http://www.18turbo.com/

I believe you can get a 3 clock instrument panel and 52mm gauges from big boys toys.

It's a single DIN size, so can go under your radio.

Got mine from demon-tweeks jason. Dont bother with the carbon fibre effect as it looks pants!

They also so thwe dash mounted ones that your after

Thanks Mike.

Best place for gauges I've found yet, and they do Racetech ones as well, so I can match them in to my current boost gauge.

Just looking now for the perfect 52mm triple dash pod. There's not one on Demon Tweeks, and I can only find single ones, but they're designed for a flat dash top. The Fabia dash slopes at a good 30 degrees+ above the vents, so need something which can sit on that, but still have the guages pointing horizontally out.

How about some nice DEFI ones Jason? All run off a single control box, then you link the guages together so ony one wire to run to the dash

Remember mine?

I don't. :o Last time I was in the Octy, I think my mind was elsewhere having taken flying lessons. ;)

Got a link at all? I currently have the plumbing for the boost guage, and my mate says all I'd need is oil pressure & temp guages, and assuming its electrically piped, I can just tee from an oil feed under the engine and one wire goes to the guages (signal split I guess somehow? - I believe it was one unit to monitor temp & pressure)

Thread subscribed :)

I'm after something where it's easily removed, or relatively out of sight from SWMBO ideally, and Jason, tell me more about this oil temp/pressure measuring :)

Well, the trouble is I don't know how Racetech guages work on the oil side. Boost is easy as there's just a pipe bolted to the inlet manifold and electrical wiring for earth and power (in headlight wiring to it comes on at night ;))

With regards to oil, it either works on a pressure basis, or hopefully on an electrical basis so one sender is T'd into the oil pipework (some big fat pipes at front, low down) which sends the signal back to the two guages for pressure and temperature. Handy to be aware of imminent engine failure/problems before the car does. ;)

Jason, you need a T piece adaptor so that you can still use the standard sensor in the side of the block. Failure to do this will result in you having a permanentlt on oil light on the dash.

I'll look later and see if I can find what it is you need .....
