01134 - alarm horn (h12)

Featured Replies

Hi

My Superb 62reg comes up with 01134 alarm horn (h12) 012 - electrical fault in circuit. The little led on the drivers door stays solid red after a couple of quick flashes

I replaced the alarm siren still have the same issue

The Alarm no longer chirps but the indicators still blink when locking and unlocking

Any help with this would be appreciated

If you've replaced the siren, and checked the fuses, then it's likely to be the wiring...

Do you mean the wiring in the door in the bellows that's prone to breaking

No, I guess it is more likely to be the wiring that feeds the alarm siren.

If you've replaced it you'll know better than me, but I believe the siren is located above the front drivers side (RHD) wheelarch liner, somewhere inside the inner wing?

I'd be tempted to trace the wires from the siren as far as you can and check for damage.

I assume you've checked the fuses too?

I thought I saw a post recently showing that the alarm siren was on the passenger side at the bottom of the windscreen under the scuttle panel?

or did I dream that///?

@superbdreams  - You didn't superbdream it - I was pretty sure I had seen it too.  The picture below showed where it is - taken from this thread and an answer by @a666andy

A little bit stuck with this now replaced the alarm siren, checked the fuses checkd the wiring all seems ok. Still no chirp when I unlock and lock the car and no alarm siren activation little red light on the driver's door stays solid red

could it be as simple as disconnecting the car battery for five mins?

or the system has memory of the horn fault and needs to cleared with vcds?

I've got the same fault "01134 - Alarm Horn (H12), 004 - No Signal/Communication" after I mounted a new 3-spoke MFSW, its wiring harness of course, and BCM 1k0 XXX 087. Additionally, the horn become not very responsive as it was before.

So, I wonder if I can do something here to fix this issue.

Thanks!

If the faults weren't there before the retrofits, it sounds like you haven't fitted the MFSW and/or BCM correctly...

I have a similar situation, original alarm horn was foutu, battery had leaked acid over the circuit board, replaced it with a cheap Ali-Express one (could be faulty) and removed fault code but it returned immediately and brought with it the same no signal/comm fault code for the interior ultrasonic sensor.

I will try and find what fuse it could be and then remove the siren, I had visually checked the wiring connector and it was clean and unoxidised but I did not check for voltages, what voltages should be present on the 3 (IIRC) pins? Guessing that one should be 12v, one should be ground.
