Superb MKIII passenger side ISOFIX bracket 8T0 881 545 retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi!

Does anybody know if it is possible to fit ISOFIX bracket to 2016 Superb Combi L&K (ventilated front seats - if that matters)?

The bracket should be this -> https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/superb/sup/2016-768/8/881-881010/#29
With product code 8T0 881 545

My dealer says that they can't retrofit this bracket. But I know that dealers say alot of stuff they can't do but actually can be done easily.

Has anyone fitted this bracket on their Superb or has any significant information on that?

Thanks in advance!

I would be very careful going off those part numbers, even the 2016 Superb is using part numbers and pictures from the MK1 and MK2 Superb!

Anything can be retrofitted, but it will probably be a PITA job as the seat base will more than likely need taking apart to mount the frame under the foam, this will be the main reason why the dealer will say it cannot be done as it is too labour intensive and not cost effective

Thanks for the reply!

I've taken some VAG car seats apart few times so I'm not afraid of the labour and time cost.

If anyone can confirm the bracket's product code I would really appreciate it. I know that the public online catalogs can't be trusted 100%.

I would be wary, as a modification you have to tell your insurer.

As a safety related modification you need to be certain that it (1) can be done and (2) is done properly. i.e. is this the ONLY part you need to fit/change?

I presume it is your child that will be in the seat?  You don't want to be explaining to your insurer after an accident that the child that should have been OK was injured because you fitted an isofix bracket which the manufacturers representative told you couldn't be done.   Now you may get a sensible answer from Skoda customer services if you push them to check with the technical people but it is likely to mirror the dealers answer.

BTW the wife once had a Peugeot 206 CC with isofix but not on the passenger seat, it was on the driver's seat.  I presume we got a UK car with French seats, didn't bother us as the children were 15 and 17.

It has been confirmed that the retrofit can be carried out with these OEM parts:

  1. ISOFIX bracket: 8T0881545
  2. ISOFIX bracket cover (black fabric): 8T0881708C 8E1
  3. Speed nuts 2pc: N  90088003
  4. Bolts 2pc: N  90737101

When ordering a new Superb then there is a factory option 3G2 (front passenger side ISOFIX) available. This option comes with the same parts as listed above. Only difference is that the seat base cover will have ISOFIX badges sewed onto.
I will post pictures when fitted. It's a bolt-on bracket and takes about 15 minutes to complete the setup.

IJWS15 is correct that insurance will cover only parts that came from factory or has been fitted by the dealer. My child seat can be fastened with seatbelt and isofix(optional). I would prefer fastening with both (isofix and seatbelt).

I have isofix on front seat, but I do not recall ISOFIX badges sewed onto. I can take picture of how they are located.

The ISOFIX badges might be a recent thing. This is my 2018 Kodiaq...

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has actually carried out this retrofit?

Per my car factory specification, it wasn't fitted with ISOFIX points in the front passenger seat (3G0 KSI Without child seat anchor in front (ISOFIX)). I have a newborn and sometimes if it is just the two of us, it is easier to have his car seat in the front seat (with the airbags off).

Looking at ETKA, it was a possible option for my car when new and should be quite an easy fit, no longer than 5 minutes as it is just two bolts underneath the seat. Unfortunately, when I went to fit the bracket, I couldn't get the bracket pushed in far enough causing the two attachment holes to be about 10mm out from front to back. The width between the attachment holes is correct and it looks like the bracket should work. I am wondering if it is the padding holding it off or the bracket has been made incorrectly. All parts are genuine.

I therefore bought:
ISOFIX bracket: 8T0881545
Speed nuts 2pc: N  90088003
Bolts 2pc: N  90737101

My car is an L&K Superb mk3 2018 with perforated cooled electric seats.

Did you ever solve this?

Am wanting to do this retrofit to my mk3 superb, hoping you found a way to fix it!

thanks. P

I havent given it another go but I highly doubt it was going to work from my first try.

I was speaking with someone at Vindis Skoda when my car was in last week and they said they could try to fit it but if I provided the parts then if it didn't fit then they would charge me the pleasure of doing so, however if they were to provide the parts they couldn’t charge me if the part didn’t fit when it was meant to. So as the part wasn’t terribly expensive and probably cheaper than them trying, I was thinking about going down this route.

What model seats and trim do you have?

Where are you located?

I’ve got a mk3 SE trim, so the cloth seats.

Since writing my post, I started to think that the proper Skoda part doesn’t have anything for the top anchor strap to attach to (the child seat I have is an all in one thing with the top tether, not one of the ones with a separate base thing.)

so I’ve ordered this to try it out:

https://amzn.eu/d/1zvfcis

My reckoning is that it will be secure enough as the tether strap will ensure it’s completely attached all around the back of the seat.

Fingers crossed!

This universal one arrives tomorrow, I’ll have a go and update you!

I have tried to keep to the OEM parts/design however if it wraps around some proper structure in the seat then I may have a look at the aftermarket route although I think the structure is more under the split line of the seats than above.

I have a feeling the leather thickness on the back of the seat is keeping the OEM bracket from fitting.

Right, so have installed the basic solution…

actually pretty pleased with it. I can’t fault how firmly the thing is held in place, that’s for sure.

Not super easy to install, the bar the isofix mechanism grabs onto is pretty deeply recessed in the seat so takes a bit of grunt to get it to clip on.

It’s a super cheap and simple solution but seems solid to me. Is a thick bit of steel
