New Company Car

Featured Replies

So,  I am getting a Kodiaq at the end of March.

I am told it is KODIAQ DIESEL ESTATE 2.0 TDI SE Technology 4x4 5dr.

am I right to assume this will be an older "new" car as they no longer offer the SE Technology. Or could it be the 2019 Kodiaq.

Is there anything on the spec sheet that would give this away?

Example: The information screen on the dash is much nicer on the new Kodiaq vs the older, cheaper looking LCD screen

Haven’t seen much info on the SE Technology as this is for fleet/ business users and aren’t listed anymore, but found this....

Nice, thank you. Seems to fit in with the spec sheet sent from my supplier.

I have had some options added:

Canton sound system
Exclusive paint - Velvet red
Heated front seats
Heated windscreen with heated windscreen washer no
Keyless entry and keyless start
Temporary steel space saver spare wheel with tool

Guess I will just have to wait to see which dash display it has :-)

Have you gone through your tax calculations? This spec with 4x4 and diesel carries a pretty hefty BIK...

The SE Technology has just recently been discontinued...

Unless you've added the factory option "Colour Multifunction Trip Computer" @ £90 it'll be the regular black and white one...

I have. It's not great.

But, I am coming from a Jaguar XF and the numbers are similar.

So kinda used to it and I wanted a decent size SUV this time.

I was going to add on my last post "unless you are minted and don't care" but didn't want to appear rude...

Hehe. Really I'm not :-)

Just sadly gotten used to being taxed heavily in the last couple years and this seemed the only way to get a large SUV for similar money to the Jag

On paper, should be better but, who knows:

That's the BIK calculation site I use and it's a good tool. I guess it's a trade off between a vehicle that you need for personal use and the BIK. What's the point in a company car that you pay tax on but doesn't suit your personal needs?

I have been looking at a RAV4 hybrid but the sat nav and tech are pants and for an extra £80 a month I can get a Kodiaq SEL 1.5.

yes, exactly. I have LOVED driving the Jag. By far the best car I have had the pleasure of "owning."

Such a fun car to drive and very powerful for a 2litre Diesel.

But I was really keen to get an SUV this time round.

It was a toss up between a Tiguan (which incidentally is about the same BIK) or the Kodiaq and I chose the Skoda because of the 4x4 but also the size.

I kinda of had to look at it in the way of:

"Could I run a new car on the tax I pay?"

On another note, I was told recently, the longer you own a car and the more it depreciates, the tax goes UP!

Because, it creates "more damage to the environment" apparently?? :-/

A less-than-2-year-old car???... Oh...Kay....

The CC tax does go up, but not because of depreciation.

The BIK % goes up 2% every year in April. (sometimes 3%) and it's purely based off the CO2 emissions. So the longer you own your company car, the higher the BIK % is gonna be for it. My last diesel was a 2013 golf 2.0 TDI estate. When I got it the BIK rate was 16%, now it'd be 26%, just because of the way the CO2 banding gets taxed higher each year

I looked at the Tiguan and the Terraco (same car, and same platform as the kodiaq) but the kodiaq doesn't have the weird boot lip and it's got slightly more boot space!
