Pretty resilient these Citigos.

Featured Replies

An old Renault Clio decided to come straight out of a side turning this evening giving me no chance. Renault has a great deal more damage, most of the damage on the Citigo would buff out but the bonnet is dented at the front and a new grille will be required. The front valance will probably be replaced as there are cuts out of it. Probably hit him at about 20+mph.

Your car will still be deemed a write off I would imagine.

I very much doubt it. I had an 03 Octavia in 2014 with more damage than this and, to my surprise, they repaired it. As long as there is no structural damage I can't see a problem. We'll see.

LV phoned today, car to be repaired. Waiting for repairers to contact to give a date to take it away. Still driveable so not bothered how soon.

Just ensure it is repaired by a VAG approved repairer to maintain your bodywork guarantee. That didn't occur to us when ours was hit, but luckily the insurance company bod was on the ball and said it should go to a VAG approved repairer to ensure the guarantee was not affected.

Booked in for the 26th, took it over to Nationwide at Daventry for them to estimate. All cosmetic damage according to the expert.

How could expert know until car is measured?

Of course side of the car takes more hit than front of the car. Front of the car is always sturdier. That's why "old Renault" look so bad.

Being as there is no problems with the shut lines on the doors/wings or any damage under the bonnet there is hardly likely to be need to check the measurements. The car drives perfectly which it wouldn't if there was any suspension/monocoque damage.
