Roomster vs Roomster Scout

Featured Replies

I had a Roomster 3 1.9PD - lovely car and wonderful handling. Now, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Scout suspension was setup differently and ruined the handling when compared to the original Roomster? Can anyone confirm/shed some light on this?
Asking, because it seems there are more late model, lower mileage examples in the Scout form and wondering whether to avoid and look for the non scout version.

I still miss my Scout.  Best car I've owned in 50 years of motoring.  I'd buy another tomorrow if Skoda still produced it.

IIRC Scout suspension was no different from other models.  The difference was in the tyres.  Scout tyres were wide, low profile 205/45 R16 - whereas other models were 195/55 R15.  Low profile tyres made the Scout ride firmer and noisier than other models, especially on the Turanzas that were fitted to mine.

Scout seats are slightly firmer than standard seats.  I found the seats in my Scout comfortable, whereas I found the seats in my SE painful after half-an-hour behind the wheel.

Good luck with your purchase.

A lots to do with what you like in a car.

I dont like panoramic roofs, but some people do, its just taste.

I prefered the look of the scout.

Regarding the suspension, they are different, you cannot put a none scout suspension on a scout as i have just recently found out.

Just go and try some, you'll soon know what you like or don't like.

Yes i did change my seats, due to a back injury.

Now this is a surprise. I thought they were the same. Mine is not a scout and I think it needs Fabia MK2 suspension at the front and Octavia MK1 Combi suspension at the back.

According to the part number of OEM suspension you posted at the Useful Part Numbers 5J and the part number I posted there a few years ago it seems that the shock absorbers of our cars (mine is a Style - non Scout) are the same but the last letter. In my case it is an N.

---Edit---

As for your KW coilovers... Damn I am at the other side of the Continent or else it could be a try (to find out if it actually fits) and buy... Argh!
