power delivery

Featured Replies

HI not long had my vrs and recently got it superchipped, Ive now noticed that when flooring the accelerator the car shoots off then seems to slightly loose power then boost away again. I was thinking maybee something wrong with recirculation valve? Would uprating to an aftermarket one be better also what would you guys reccomend, an uprated recirculation valve or a dump valve.?

Thanks

Fitting an uprated recirc valve is often a good idea especially for remapped cars - Forge or Bailey seem to be good for these. I would strongly recommend a recirc valve since many people who have fitted an atmos valve to a 1.8T have had problems (the ECU seems to get confused as the amount of air flowing through the MAF is not the same as the amount of air it thinks will pass through the exhaust sensors and it may go into limp mode)

On my vRS I had a problem with the car 'stuttering' - boost - no boost - boost etc. This was solved by fitting an APR turbo inlet pipe.

On yours if changing the DV does not help I would recommend checking the hose connections on the turbo inlet pipe and the connections in the hose from the turbo to the intercooler & the intercooler to the throttle body. If these are all ok then maybe changing the turbo inlet pipe would help.

This sounds like my problem. I'm gonna replace a few parts that seem to be mentioned on all different vag forums, these are:

N75F valve

MAF Sensor

DV

I'm thinking the last is least likely to solve the problem as mine's already a forge one.

to be honest i had the same thing with mine and i had it back at the dealers on many occasions to try and stop it surging, they replaced many parts and could never fix it,i decided to have it remapped anyway and it turned out that my car would not accept the new map and upon opening the ecu it had a superchip in it(which the dealer never told me about) anyway the chip was removed and a standard chip was fitted then it was remapped and ever since the surging has gone so i can only assume that it was the result of an ill fitted superchip or a characteristic of the map superchips use, possibly a boost overshoot:confused:

atmos valve wont run on a remapped car...

if our after the noise go for a recirc and a panel filter in the airbox or an induction kit or cai for louder results...
