Chrome door/window trim to black???

Featured Replies

Hi!

This is my first post outside introductions so please be gentle!

I’ve ordered the 150 petrol DSG Superb Estate SE L Executive. I had no choice with what model or engine car I had as it was bought for me.

I plan on modifying it a little to my taste, just aesthetically at the moment. I’ve been on superskoda and intend ordering the black grill, emblems etc.

My main thing I’d like to know is, what’s the best/easiest way to change the chrome window/door surrounds to black??? I can’t find any information on it using the search...

I found that it’s probably best to get the roof bits wrapped if that’s correct???

Sorry if this has been spoken about but I couldn’t find it anywhere!

 Thanks in advance!

Rob

Welcome :)

A Sportline would have been better to start with as that has the gloss black trim as standard but as you say that wasn't an option....

Superskoda is likely the best place to start.  Lots of OEM and aftermarket (but seemingly good quality) trim and bodykit items for sale.   After snapping and replacing probably the smallest piece of gloss black trim on my car (when changing fog lights) I can guess this will be an expensive exercise/project for you.

You could also try a breakers yards to see if they have any Sportlines but that's a long shot.

I’m planning on doing the same thing once the weather improves a bit.

my plan is to use vinyl tape for the smaller chrome bits (door surrounds etc.) and replace the more intricate parts by Sportline parts.

Thanks both! @penguin17 and @kriva

Oh god that doesn’t sound great penguin! Expensive! I’ve alread been on the superskoda site and spent a few hundred pounds in my head! There’s no point getting them till I get the car, 3 months they told me it could be! It’s going to be a long 3 months!!! :D

I love the honeycomb grill!

So I’ve ordered the car in the green! I’m usually a white or black car man but thought I’d try a change. So I’ve gone emerald green with the 19” graphite alloys! Then I just need to put all the black emblems etc etc on! Not that I’m excited mind! :giggle:

Now if Škoda offered an Emerald green Sportline then it would look bloody lovely against the gloss black trim .  It’s a great colour and the pictures don’t do it justice; it really suits the lines of the Superb.

Not sure if it’s possible!
