I own a (1u5) mk1 skoda octavia vrs 1.8 T and was wondering if I can transfer the ecu into a skoda octavia Elegance 1.8T 4x4 mk1 (1u5) also as I want to know how easy it is to tune the elegance to the same power and torque as the vrs? And will the parts from the vrs transfer easily on the elangance being n the same car apart from one is a 4x4?

Why not just remap the Elegance and save the cost and bother of the ECU swap. What is the standard power of the Elegance model, because you should see at least a 40bhp increase with a good remap alone.

And wot cost to swap?  I own both cars and I can do the work myself?

If the turbo is the same in both cars (iirc some of the older 4x4 1.8T had a previous version k03) then the elegance 4x4 engine can be remapped the exact same way as the vrs. Only difference would be exactly how the power/torque is put to the road through the 4wd system.

Cool thanks for that and yeah both turbos are the same ko3 even though I just put the ko3s on the vrs but can transfer at a later date

My Vrs 1.8T MK1 Octavia made 230bhp and 230lb/ft of torque when remapped in 2004. Averaged 30mpg giving around 360 miles from the 55litre fuel tank and top speed was 148mph.
