Have a 1.5 tsi SE L with manual seats

Is the Individual mode key specific?  When the wife uses her key the car seems to stay on my settings. I use the sports (heavier steering) setting that she doesn’t like.

If we set up an Individual setting with her key would the car recognise the difference between the two keys?

Yes.

Only if the 'driver personalisation' option was paid for, I believe.

According to the manual each key fob will retain its own mode settings. No need for driver personalisation add on just for modes.

Interesting it seems you might have got a freebie extra or something programmed in.

According to Page 244 of the Karoq online manual , it does mention that the drive mode will revert to normal after the ignition is switched off and on.

Strange nunances I have to bare I guess, where as on my Golf the settings stays

And the page 58: Overview of some personalized functions

- Driving mode - setting the individual mode

Not yet found the right setting to keep the individual mode after switching on, but some day, I hope.

I have changed the individual settings for more heavier steering and the lights as well. They seem to save within the ‘individual’ profile. However the profile reverts to normal everytime after restarting the car.

Same here. It is odd that doesn't stay, many other settings do.

Does seem strange, on my old Octavia Elegance (equivalent to the SEL), stayed on individual everytime I started the car :wondering:

Same in our old Octavia my15, but it was 4 years ago.

New car, new tricks

Well, doubting myself after some replies on here but just been out to the car which I last used yesterday afternoon and it is still set to individual.

  • 2 weeks later...

I routinely use the Individual setting, the characteristics of which are retained between journeys with the exception of the DSG setting - I use 'E' and it always reverts to 'D'. A quick fix is to press the 'Off Road' button twice, turning it on then off. When it goes off, it returns to 'E'.

As JohnD5314 says, settings in the Individual mode are retained between journeys except that the drive mode reverts back to 'D'. This isn't an issue for me as I find 'D' mode more economical than 'E' mode.
