You will need a space saver on a 4x4 - the Haldex unit is under the spare wheel well and takes the space a full size wheel would need.

Your choice if you have a warranty you want to protect.

Unfortunately, G32turbo, this isn't the whole story. Tow bar prep also includes an uprated fan and larger grill apertures, as well as the wiring mods. If you do not have tow bar prep these additional upgrades need to be made. I have a 67 plate 2.0 diesel and was advised by the dealer when I bought it new that the tow bar prep was just the wiring upgrade, and that I needed the additional cooling mods. They assured me that the cooling mods were not part of the upgrade, and charged me £500 for a new fan/grill. However on checking with Skoda customer services, who looked at the exact build spec for my car, I discovered I had the cooling mods as they were part of the tow bar prep. They confirmed this to me in an email, which I presented to the service manager. His face was a picture and he hastily refunded me £500. Easy way to check the correct grill is that the one with tow bar prep has vertical slots about 2 - 3 inches high. On non tow bar prep cars they are about half this.

This is only partially correct - towbar prep also includes upgrades to the grill and cooling fan. When my towbar was fitted I was charged £500 for these upgrades despite asking the service manager to check what 'tow bar prep' consisted of (which my car had). Third party installers need to check whether additional cooling is required for any specific model, especially if you want to avoid problems with potential (related) warranty claims.

I agree - ECO mode is the same as dipping a clutch, so fuel is used to tick over. But if the clutch remains engaged, is there an independent fuel shut off? Using no fuel?

Before comparing fuel consumption doing return journeys, please check wind direction - this will affect fuel consumption far more than any coasting in ECO mode (and maybe the altitude of the start and end of the trip). Especially in a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a Karoq. My understanding is that in ECO mode, the engine ticks over. In Drive mode the fuel is shut off when running downhill (with no throttle, in gear). Is this true? If so, ECO would make fuel consumption worse.

I have the 2.0 diesel 4x4 and tow 1450kg. I felt the extra weight of the diesel, DSG and 4x4 was needed for towing this weight caravan, it is around 90% rather than 85% but I am pretty experienced at towing and am happy with this. I do load all the heavy stuff in the car, including using a top box , as it is very easy to overload the caravan (I have gone to the length of itemising all the contents of the van, weighing them, and working out the best distribution to stay within the MTPLM and nose weight). Tows very well, around 30 mpg (very dependent on wind conditions, though). My only comment is that it hold 3rd gear a little longer than I would like, but I can override that if I want to). A word of warning though (from experience). If you are getting a car with tow bar prep, it includes the upgrading of the fan and grill. If it doesn't have tow bar prep these upgrades may be needed (depends on model) are are about £500. On my model I can recognise if the cooling has been upgraded as the vertical vents in the drill are about 3-4 inches high rather than about 1 inch high. Its important if future warranty issues arise that could be attributed/exacerbated by towing.

You need to be careful about what is meant by an 'Oil and Inspection Service'. If you are on fixed interval regime then they fall at the same time, and are done together. If you are on a variable interval then they can become due at different times - the Inspection is annual but the Oil Change service is the variable part. An Inspection Service costs about £55 and I do not believe it includes a diagnostic check. I don't know which of these options is included in a service plan (probably the minimum possible), but it might explain why the errors were not checked/commented on/cleared.

I recently had my right hand strut replaced (which I believe deals with closing the tailgate). About 6 months out of warranty, but the extended warranty I bought covered it. Garage reckoned it is about £400 job to replace it (mainly the cost of the strut).

I posted this a number of years ago for a '67 plate Karoq Edition. Travel Mode. This adjusts the headlights for driving on the right (note - may be model dependent, I have LED headlights). To clarify, 'Right Hand Traffic' means driving on the right (it confused me at first, I wondered if it meant oncoming traffic was to my right). When selected there is a dashboard warning every time you start the engine. It appeared to work well, nobody flashed me.

Re ACC - I wonder if it is anything to do with the fact that there is a 50 mph speed limit with the space saver? Maybe Skoda think more driver attention to speed is required and they might not reduce the CC set speed (I have to be honest, I am not really convinced by that argument but I thought I would put it out there). Re radar - I have had the warning that is was not operational a couple of times, both associated with very heavy rainfall which I imagine could affect the radar. All cleared when the rain relented.

Yes, service records are kept on line - they used to be available via My Skoda App, but not any more. However, your dealer can print out the entire service record very easily for you.

I have a Karoq '67 plate Edition so I would expect you have it. One way to check is when you pass a temporary speed limit sign (even variable speed limits on overhead gantries on a motorway) - it should change on the display pretty much immediately as you pass the sign. The system isn't 100% reliable and odd facing signs can throw it, but I think it works very well overall. Also (just been out and checked) - Menu/Vehicle/Driver Assistance/Dynamic Road Sign Display. Check the box and it should be OK. I always think it is a pity that the only signs it recognises, however, are speed limit and No Overtaking signs. Thinking about it, though, most road signs don't have a 'turn off' sign associated with them, or are limited range (such as 'left turn ahead'). Speed Limit and No Overtaking have a paired sign that will override (ie a new speed limit or a cancellation version). I'm not going to sit here and go through the Highway Code to check though.
