VRS 220 and 230

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

My 2016 petrol VRS that i have just purchased was on auto trader advertised as a 220.

But my insurance company have it down as a 230.

Is there any way to confirm what it is?

Cheers, TIA

If you register your VIN on the Skoda Portal or the One App, it should give you the kW rating of your engine.

It'll be either 162kw or 169kw.

Visually, if it's the prefacelift 230ps special edition, I think it will have stuff like the 19" Xtrem wheels, black pack etc. Obviously these things can be changed by previous owners though, so the VIN check is most reliable imo

Thanks Kenai.

Got 18s and no black pack so assuming 220.

Will check via the method you suggested above. I assume i will be paying a higher premium for a 230 rather than 220 so want to find out for certain

Somebody else had this recently I believe, might be worse doing a search on what the outcome was.

Lol yeah true. Mine runs out april....going to enquire about what effect tinting and changing grille surround to black will do to premium

Yeah mines having a black grill surround once the weather warms up looks a tad nicer than chrome and suits my meteor grey better
