Annoying rattle/noise in rear on Sportline estate

Featured Replies

Does anyone else experience an annoying rattle noise in the rear boot area of their estate, when going over rougher surfaces / road compressions?  I have the variable boot floor and the spare wheel.  initially I thought it was the retractable parcel shelf and took that out but it still goes on.  The spare wheel is pretty well secured so I'm wondering whether its the VBF.   Any thoughts appreciated, I've tuned right into it and its really annoying me!

Do you have a car seat in the back? Any other lose items in the boot ? I get rattles over bumps which concerned me until I figured out it's the bloody baby's seat that's rattling.

No sadly not, kids are now old enough to ride with seatbelts only.  I’ve had everything out except the spare wheel, so might have to try that next.

Interesting that I spotted this thread. Coming back from a worksite this afternoon with the window open I heard a rattle (like a tin tray) from the rear of my Superb estate every time I went over a bump. By driving over a few cats eyes I reckoned it was from the driver side rear wheel. Had a look and found the brake disc shield had come loose. Job for this weekend I think!

I had a rear interior rattle in mine, turned out to be loose cover for the subwoofer. Foam tape fixed it.
