OBD Eleven - get me started :)

Featured Replies

Hi Nick,

How you getting on with OBDII ,mine arrived this week, enabled needle sweep but it's not working, enabled lap timer and cornering fogs and both work, also enabled fan speed on auto which works too, so can compare notes if you're having issues.

Which instructions did you follow for the needle sweep?

Off the top of my head it was 17-dashboard, byte 1, and tick the flag next to bit 0, gauge/ needle sweep. Can connect to the car again tomorrow and give the exact names.

I've read of some people that it only worked intermittently for. Left the car a while after coding then went for drive and still didn't work.

Aren’t they all done by adaptations...  “indication celebration” now?

I don't see anything like that in Adaptations.

Here's where I ticked the box, worked for the lap timer but not for needle sweep ☹

I didn't use that screen, my option was in the Instruments section, but was called "Staging" rather than anything to do with needles.

Nick

I guess I'm in the works intermittently gang, topped up with diesel and when I got back in the car the needle sweep worked, drove to supermarket and when i got back in the car it didn't work. Time to switch it off

Needle sweep is a random event in my no mods MY18 Superb. Somebody in the Superb forum tried to convince me it depends if doors have been opened, keys removed etc. etc.

But it doesn't. I can't predict when it will next sweep.

If anything, it seems related to battery voltage, but don't quote me on that.

I find the same with the needle sweep. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and I've not yet found what the trigger is.

Having KESSY also messes it up a bit I think.

Same for me. As it's not reliable, I removed the coding.
