I had a 6 speed facleift Mk1 1.6d 

 

I now have a 5 speed Pre-FL 5 speed 1.6

 

has anyone got the relevant ratios for the top gear in both and the final drive ratios?

 

 

I might be able to dig them out later. Why are you interested in them anyway?

 

At a guess, I'd say 5th in your current car is probably shorter overall than 6th in your old one, but probably a little bit longer than 5th in the 6-speed 'box.

i always thought the Mk2 6th gear too long and cost me mpg, 5th and a bit slower worked out better

 

ive now only got 5th but it seems result in a higher rpm/mph
