Keyles start engine and Keyless entry system

Featured Replies

Hello!

I will order Skoda Kodiaq which has keyless start engine function. I would like to have also keyless entry system (this is payable equipment). I know that in door knob should be integrated sensor but is it  possible that sensor already exist? Is it possible that this function can be ''turned on'' just in car software?

I was owner of Skoda Octavia and I turned on function ''Coming home and leaving home'' by myself.

Best regards,

Borut

Depends if they fit the door handles with the sensors in as standard.

I believe if it has the sensors in there will be a small line on the handle of there isn't a sensor there won't be a line

Enabling KESSY is not possible, as this relies on the hardware mentioned (handles and outside-sensing sensors). I thought that you had to have KESSY to have keyless start - perhaps the KESSY option listed is for the upgraded alarm sensor?

Depends on the market, I believe. Keyless start and keyless* entry are different things - but get bundled into 'KESSY' in some markets including the UK (and I'm guessing NZ from your comment!).

*It's not really keyless - you still need the key! And it's not really hands-free either because you still need to pull the handle. And "Key-in-coat-pocket-or-at-bottom-of-her-bag-entry" doesn't really have the same marketing buzz to it.

Yeah, it’s confusing. I’m pretty sure the manual shows a key start for cars “without KESSY”, so that’s why I didn’t think push button start was available without KESSY.
