Fitted the rear aero wiper to my vRS estate over the weekend. Used it once or twice, and it was certainly a vast improvement over the original part.

However, the plastic cap protecting the nut seems to pop off every time the wiper moves - so when I stop the car I have to push it back into place.

What have I done wrong ? Is there a trick to getting the cap to stay put ?

(aero wiper kit bought complete from VAGparts last week)

You need to shave a little off the underside of the cap, then it will stay on.

It's nowhere near in need of shaving on my Octavia Estate, you may just not have it pushed on right. It should 'click' when it's pushed on fully.

Mine needed shaving - strange!

I had considered a shave...but wanted to check before taking the knife to it.

I definitely push it on hard enough to hear the click as it engages. Then as soon as the wiper is activated, it clicks off again.
