Rough running between 2-2.5k after remap, furby vRS

Featured Replies

Anyone else get anything similar? Had a remap a few thousand miles ago, along with filter and intake. Although the car flies, it sounds very unhappy if given full throttle from 2k, regardless of gear. Above 2.5k is perfect. Did it straight after the remap and hasn't changed since.

Difficult to describe, but kind of a juddering feeling mixed with a moan :dunce:

The car still picks up very well during all this, it doesn't seem to hurt the acceleration, but can't help feeling i'm not doing it any good.

Am unsure if it might be the clutch on the edge of slipping - the revs don't rise, but have only experienced a slipping clutch when it's knackered, rather than when the torque is too much for it. Is peak torque on the remapped motors in this rev range? Is making about 170ish bhp. Don't want to mention who remapped it as haven't been back to them yet, just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar issue.

It's quite a pain as 2k in top is about 65-70, so can make motorway overtakes a bit of a chore.

Cheers :)

Sounds like DMF - it can't handle that extra torque so it kinda bounces a bit.

Start above 2.5k and you'll have no trouble (as you've already found out).

or let the power in softer

It doesn't matter how quick i give it full throttle - if I do it in 6th, even winding it on gently it'll do it for several seconds until i get to 2.5k.

Indeed :)

I've either got used to the noise or mine doesn't do it :D
