Metallic dash rattle found

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been trying to locate a metallic rattle from my dashboard area, and have finally found the source....

There is a plastic trim panel under the dash, in front of the pedal area. At one end, where the clutch is, a curved metal clip is rattling against the top part of the clutch pedal assembly. I've attempted to attach a picture of the offending bit.

It looks like this trim panel has been incorrectly fitted at some point, but would anybody be able to tell me if it looks right or not? Am sure the clip should be fixed in somewhere!

Cheers

The trim above the clutch us held in place by a screws and a clip that goes over the metal section.

It is quite easy to replace the panel and not clip it onto the metal section.

If you undo all the retaining screws and move the panel aft you should be able to guide it back in, with the clip engaging on the metal bracket.

This need to be done first or it will not go on - hense the rattle

I had this one, drove me mad. I just shoved a bit of foam around the metal clip and that sorted it:thumbup:
