Day light wiring and harness

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have my daylights inactive in my car. No wiring or harness are even exist. A specialist installed a new harness for my left and right daylights and hocked it into the yellow connector (A) (Pin numbers 45 and 49) of my BCM 1K0 XXX 087. Now I get my daylights active along with the high beam only. I would like to know how to get the daylights to work independent of the high beam. So, I will be happy if someone would correct me if the wiring and pin numbers are wrong, or this has something to do with the coding. My BCM has a constant fault of 01134-Alarm Horn (H12) as it reads 004 - No Signal/Communication, and I think this has nothing to do with day lights.

Presumably the 'yellow connector' is for the main headlights, so is not the correct connector for the Daytime Running Lights (DRL's).

What has your specialist done to the cars existing wiring harness? The DRL's will need their own separate feed and then the car (BCM) will need coding to either tell it that DRL's are now fitted, or to activate them.

Strange, in the UK, all MkII facelift Octavia's got the combined DRL / foglight clusters fitted from the factory, but the DRL's were not activated. A Simple coding change was all that was needed on the early cars. Are you saying your facelift Octavia in Egypt has the DRL's already there, but no wiring to them, or have you had to change the light clusters too?

My MKII is 2009 and it has the combined DRL/foglight clusters fitted from the factory, but the DRL’s harness is missing. My specialist had assembled a new wiring harness and fitted it into my car along with the main harness, so he didn’t touch the factory harness. Then he connected the one me made for the DRLs to the BCM pin numbers 45 and 49 of the yellow connector. Now the DRLs work only with the high beam. He tried to reprogram the DRLs through the VCDS but he failed.

I didn't do it by myself, so I don't have this autoscan information on me right now. I will ask my specialist for it and post it here.

Thanks!

Excellent, I have a good idea what they've done but I need the scan to confirm.

You also mentioned the DRL are connected to "yellow connector (A) (Pin numbers 45 and 49)".

They should be on connector C (brown) pins 48 (left) and 49 (right). I'm assuming when you say yellow, you actually mean brown so the wiring is probably half correct...?

I am currently doing research on it and yes, you're right. It is brown since there is no yellow socket included.

I will be able to tell you exactly which pins were installed after I double check with my specialist by Saturday.

Thanks!

Excuse me, I would like to know which pins on BCM should support the front left and right fogs. Just wanted to have the whole picture before I do any work tomorrow.

Thanks!

I believe that:

- Connector A pin 25 is the left fog,

- Connector C pin 25 is the right fog.

You should buy some time on https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do to check the wiring diagrams...

I double checked the connectors with my specialist and I found that the wiring is mounted to the correct pen numbers. However, I am still getting the daylights turned on only with the high beam lights. Cornering lights is option is not working too. So, I assumed that my BCM version (1K0 937 087) may not support these features. So, I wonder if this would be the case.

Still waiting for an autoscan....
