312mm Brake Upgrade Problems

Featured Replies

Hi

So the other day i took my car to the garage to get them to fit my callipers and bleed the brakes with new race brake fluid

i got my car back yesterday and the brake pedal feels very spongey and has alot of travel and also feels like it does almost nothing when its not pressed on rather hard.

I didn't want to slam the brakes on either due to the pads being new and don't want to mess up the bedding in procedure so i am not sure how sharp they are at braking with alot of force on the brake pedal.

My old 288MM Brakes used to have a very high biting point and in all honestly feel better than these.

Has anybody else experienced this when upgrading to the 312mm brakes or perhaps my brakes could not have been bled properly?

If it helps i used these discs and pads:

MTEC C Hook Discs

Mintex Pads

Thanks.

taking it back seems like best option. Sorry, can't offer any more advice. I did have a few problems (binding) with my 312mm brakes but that was a damaged hose i think

When you say ' bleed the brakes with new race brake fluid' what fluid was used? Was it DoT 3, 4 or 5.1 or possibly DoT 5 silicone?
