can anybody beat this

Featured Replies

Ive had my fabia vrs just under 2 weeks, i put 30 notes in and got 350 miles to it! Much better than the clio that did 170 miles to

evening all, i have a skoda fabia vrs and regulary get 550 - 600 miles out of the tank, that with brimming the tank with the "little fuel expansion tank button" located in the fuel filler neck. the best i have ever mustered is 625 out of the tank and i thought that was good, 645 must of been eaking it out and driving like a grandad. i range speeds but my trip is the same most day's i travel comfortably on a A road at about 60-70 mph and sometimes boy racers do try and take my furby rs on but i leave them for dust! yes diesel does perform well! and yes the skoda fabia vrs is a good contender to beat MOST boy racers in there xr2i's and other crappy ford dustbins such as ka/fiesta. whats the hightest speed n e one has ever got out of their furby vrs? i would like to know.

bloody cheek, chris inns17 driving like a grandad hey,i'll remember that the next time i am follwing you at 55/60 mph.i agree with you about the crappy ford dustbins even though we work for crappy ford dealer ha ha.

do we know each other? do you drive that yellow furby vrs that i see most days? confused:confused:

There's another issue here . . hills, or rather, lack of them in East Anglia! :D

Try getting that mpg around here.:P

I only get my high numbers over the Cheshire plain, if I go east (where I like to;) ) then my mpg drops massively.

thats alot o miles for a tank!! i went from nottingham to brighton and back on a tank, which wasnt bad, 6th gear motorways travel the FAB loves it

I've done 710 miles ;)

Lets not go off topic about top speeds etc and boy racers, there are many other threads on this where you can contribute using the search function

I used to get good MPG

whats this expansion tank trick

and what bad things could happen to the car if your unlucky?

I remember Ross said the expansion tank trick can mess up your charcoal filter = expensive mess.

Now I'm getting about 450 miles from when the pump nozzle first clicks as being "full" to driving the tank down to "0 miles to go" I suspect perhaps if I get that extra £4 worth of diesel in, I could push 500, but I'm really pushing it.

Now I just put £20 at a time in to keep car weight down ;) and average around 210/220 on that (without worrying about economy and driving style at all)

Hi can this be confirmed .... cos I always fill up using the

expansion tank ( this usually covers a months driving ):(

( this usually covers a months driving ):(
A month  that must be awesome!
A month  that must be awesome!

I only use

£40 a week for me :(

Having said that, if I attend a Brisky meet, I'll use nearly an entire tank on that day.

i use the expansion tank all the time , should i be doing this? ive been using it for the last 6 months of owning the car. whats the idea of it if it ruins your charcoal filter? how much does this repair cost if this does happen and what are the symptoms of it, engine light? running rough?....

should we all be using the expansion tank nozzle???????????????
