DSG factory reset

Featured Replies

Can you help confirm something for me, I have dropped my Super for a service and DSG oil change this morning and I asked them to conduct a full factory reset on the DSG gearbox. They have informed me that they do not have the time as they need to drive the car around for an hour with a laptop to reset. Is this correct?

thank you

Thank you, did you feel a big difference after this was done?

Nothing major to be honest. Shifts maybe a little cleaner and snappier. What this procedure does is recalibrate the position sensors in the gearbox to compensate for wear, so it's unlikely to result in a huge difference unless your 'box is already in bad shape.

Thank you for the feedback, I have picked the car up now after its DSG oil change and the gears seem a little smoother whether that's just the placebo effect :)
