DSG default to 'Normal' drive mode?

Featured Replies

I've recently bought an '18 plate Scout, with the 184PS Tdi and DSG auto gearbox.

As my daily commute is 20 miles on the M4, I usually run in 'Eco' mode.

One thing i've noticed, when I turn on the ignition and press the Drive Mode button, the main screen (8" touchscreen) highlights that i'm in Eco mode (ie it's remembering what mode it was in before being turned off).  But, the screen in between speedo and rev counter still says it's in Normal D drive, and it doesn't drop the revs when coasting etc.

Is this normal?  Is there some sort of warm-up period before the gearbox switches to Eco?  Just doesn't seem right that the two screens have conflicting information..

It's a bug / feature of the DSG, the box reverts to D on a new start up (I think it keeps the right mode though while you're in the 2 hour 'same journey' window before the obc resets)
