Wipers won’t turn off!

Featured Replies

My wipers remain on intermittent (but without variable setting) when the stalk is in the “off” position.

Any ideas?

Normally a faulty switch/stalk assembly, seems like it is a weak part on similar Polo/Ibiza as well as Fabia.

Hi

I had this problem a couple of months ago and it was resolved by a stalk replacement; luckily just under warranty.

Out of warranty sadly, hopefully not to steep a fix. Thanks for the replies :)

(resurrects old thread) My Fabia has just started doing exactly this... how steep was the fix? is it the sort of thing an independent garage would be able to do or is it a Skoda franchise job? Cheers!

It literally just went away the next day!  Put it down to the battery which has always been dodgy to be fair :)

Ha! Wish all faults were like that :-)

Managed to get it in first thing this morning at the local decent independent garage. £190 all in for a new wiper stalk (London) in case anyone is searching in future!

@sharkabouttown had this problem on my Fabia for the past month. Could you recommend the local garage in London you used?
