Has anyone seen the rear wiper of the Audi A4 saloon. It looks like this would fit onto an octy as it has what looks like a similar spray system (eg pipe to jets) and looks a lot more aero like.

Just wondering if anyone knows wether it's the same spndle on the motor etc?

Ooh i'll have to check that out. Let me know if you find out if it's suitable.

I would of thought the spindle is likely to be the same.

I will have closer look if i can, but saw it in the work car park.

Not sure if it was an earo or just a nicer one like on the back of a fabia etc, but still looked much better :)

Had another look and I would need to see one off the car in the flesh, but it looked just like an shrouded normal blade, like on the fabia. Looked a mile better though :)

While on the subject has anyone ever had issues with VAG-Parts delivering as I ordered on thursday and have had the invoice but no parts :(

I had to wait a few days for them to come into stock but once they dispatched them they were with me the next day. Try giving them a ring, that's what I did and they were very friendly and helpful.

Yeah I will do, I did phone before I ordered and was told they were in stock, was just hoping to get the things fitted when I took the car in for some work rather than DIYing, but hey as long as they turn up.

Looks like they got dispatched this morning, but they have no idea why i got the invoice seperate from the goods. Still all good asuming they turn up tomorrow :)

Nope still no sign of anything, will have to give them another call. Disapointed as i missed my chance to get the things fitted :(

Well after a while the things turned up in a battered box, looks like the PO had hidden the things at the bottom of a big pile.

The arms and blades survived just fine however and I got them fitted while having some other work done on the car that required removal of the wipers :)

My thoughts on them?

Superb upgrade. They wipe very well, are better hidden away and don't wobble around at motorway speeds. On top of that wind noise from the front of the car is massively reduced, the annoying water spats after wipe have gone and as a plus they look kind of nice too.

Definately recommended as a cheap upgrade next time you need a new set of wiper blades.

Hey,

is this the description on them?

Golf MK4 front aero wipers

Set of two aero wiper arms and two aero wiper blades for the MK4 Golf complete with new nut covers for these arms.

Order number: MK4Faero

Our price: 52.46 GBP

thanks

Yes thats the items, just make sure you order the correct hand drive version. :)

I would also recommend having a tool for removing the wiper arms (About £10) and some plusgas/WD40 as the octy arms are known to rust on quite well.

Spot on fit :) and I just have to find a rear one that looks nicer now.

Phew thank God you received them. I was starting to think you were never gonna get them!!

Does anyone have the VAG part numbers so I can price em up from the local dealer? Shipping to NZ might be a bit costly!!

RHD please :)

Shipping from VAGParts.com to here is 24 quid. But dealer part prices here tend to be a bit steep, so we'll see!

Reading from the Boxes I have you need:

Drivers side arm: 1J2 955 426B

Passenger arm: 1J2 955 4(24 - i think, as label is torn) B

Drivers blade: 1J2 955409 D

Passenger blade: 1J2 955 410D

Cheers I'll price em up :)

Much appreciated

Just ordered some:

You had the numbers for arms and blades the wrong way around:

Drivers side blade: 1J2 955 426B

Passenger blade: 1J2 955 425B

Drivers arm: 1J2 955409 D

Passenger arm: 1J2 955 410D

Cost NZ$185.90 - about 62 quid

I posted about these on a local VAG forum - www.vask.org.nz - and they all think it's a waste of money for wipers! :D

I bought mine from VAGParts - arrived very quickly, fit perfectly and work very well. Well worth the money IMHO

Close enough hey, especially with the guessed one ;) I guess the B for blade should have given it away :)

I think it was somewhere around the £70 price, and I would say thats probably the best upgrade I have ever done to a car just for the massively reduces road noise on the m/way and much better wipe and wash/wipe performance on the Octy.

Sure they will change their minds given time and a few pics ;)

Oh and there are some pics in this thread of an Octy with the aeros on :)

Finally got mine fitted tonight - they look great and seem to work well - I only tried them in the garage :)

Just realised that's a rubbish picture - ah well!

Is that a wall or something?

Is that a wall or something?

I park it in the batcave :)

The back wall of the garage is made of clay! The house is on top

Cool, wondered what the hell it was, still if it saves you buying claybars ;)

I think you will really notice the things when you start going at speed and I am still amazed at how much quieter it all is. :)
