RNS510 Screen Problems

Featured Replies

Of late (following no updates to the RNS 510 in well over a year - although the car has been in the "shop" to fix the engine/turbo, so i don't know if that is in anyway related and they have caught a wire... unlikely i'm guessing), my RNS 510 Columbus screen has been switching off shortly after powering up.

After a matter of minutes the screen simply goes black (as though it's off) however any music, radio, SD card audio or CD etc. continues to play/sound through the speaks.

Any suggestions? The issue seems intermittent - sometimes not occurring, but other times occurring within say 2-3 minutes (if that) of booting up.

I've had once a failed touchscreen which produced this particular fault. It's certainly not common but I would suspect a new screen is required.

If your near me then it's a fairly simple 30  minute job to replace it, or send the unit to me if you wish.

That's always presuming your unit has a microphone button on the top right hand side. If it has a small speaker & letter I then it's an old unit and I have no screens available.

It's the newer model with the microphone button at the top right (for repeating the navigation audio commands). Photo below just in case.

If you can drop me a PM with your address details (as I'll need to send it through the post as I'm in Nottinghamshire) and just confirm the price (I believe its £95?) and the payment method and payment due info etc. and i'll get it sorted and in the post to you.

Had a couple of days with it working, now its playing up again ha definitely on the fritz!

That picture is a Speaker & letter i unit. This is a unit with a Microphone button...

If yours is the one you posted a picture of then I don't have any spares for that I'm afraid.

Ah I see the subtle difference. Any chance you know the part number for my model?

Part number for the Columbus will be on the top of the unit.
